REQUIREMENTS:
- Appropriate Trade Test Certificate
- 5 years post qualification experience as an Artisan
- Valid driver’s license
- Special requirements (Skills needed): Previous maritime experience will be of an advantage
- Knowledge of Refrigeration test equipment
- Knowledge of applicable machinery with regard to refrigeration and air conditioning systems
- Knowledge of safety standards
- Ability to conduct technical training
- Ability to compile documentation
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English, at all levels
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Proficiency in MS Office packages and other computeraided technical applications
- Knowledge of Legal Compliance
- Ability to write Technical reports
- Knowledge and skills of Conflict Managements and OHS Act
- Planning and Organising skills.
DUTIES:
- Rendering advice and guidance and in-house training to junior artisans and apprentices
- Operating of machining equipment
- Conducting gas and electronic leak detection
- Interpreting job requirements from instructions, 24 drawings, samples and templates
- Adhering to all safety and quality regulations
- Must be medically fit and be able to work on ships and submarines.
