This is a tender opportunity for the position of Engineering Technician at the Naval Communications Centre in Silvermine, Tokai. The role requires a qualified candidate with a National Diploma in Engineering and at least three years of post-qualification technical experience. Mandatory requirements include a valid driver’s license, own transport, and current compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician.The successful applicant will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of communications equipment, supervising and training personnel, and assisting with new projects and budget planning. The position involves working in an underground facility with potential overtime, including nights and weekends. The salary offered is between R391,671 and R418,332 per annum. REQUIREMENTS:

DUTIES:
- Maintain and repairing of all communications equipment
- Supervising and training of personnel
- Assisting with new projects appertaining to the Communications system
- Working knowledge of main support systems and equipment
- Ensuring logistic support of the communications system is always maintained to a level whereby all requirements from naval stores and outside contractors are timeously met
- Assisting in the planning of the department’s budget for the fourth coming financial year
- Supervising the implementation of all documents required for the procurement of all naval stores and petty cash purchases.
